Deborah brings an approach to estate planning that centers on understanding and addressing the unique needs of each client.

Deborah holds the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation, an internationally recognized designation demonstrating proficiency and expertise in the planning and administration of trusts and estates. She is a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario, the Estate Planning Council of Canada, as well as the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP Canada). Deborah is a member of the STEP Ottawa Branch Executive Committee as a Member-at-Large.

Prior to founding Howse-Rubenstein Estate Law, Deborah gained extensive experience in the estate and trust industry at a large Canadian trust company, where she managed the administration of complex estate, trust, guardianship and power of attorney for property files. She also assisted clients with the development of comprehensive estate plans and provided guidance on a wide variety of will-planning and estate administration matters.

Deborah is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School where she graduated with the Dean’s Letter for Cumulative Overall Excellence.
