Our Process
We strive to make the estate planning process as simple, secure, and stress-free as possible — all from the comfort of your own home. Here’s what you can expect when working with us:
1. Get in Touch
Reach out to let us know you’re interested in preparing your Will and Powers of Attorney. We’ll provide an overview of the process, confirm our fees, and answer any initial questions you may have.
2. Getting Started
If you decide to move forward, we’ll send you a secure, web-based questionnaire to gather important personal and financial information, along with a retainer agreement for your review and signature. Depending on your circumstances, we’ll let you know of any additional documents that are required to properly advise you.
3. Initial Meeting
Once your questionnaire and documents are received, we’ll schedule an initial meeting to review your information, discuss your wishes, and provide tailored recommendations based on your circumstances.
4. Drafting Your Documents
Following our meeting, we’ll prepare your draft documents. You’ll have the opportunity to review them carefully, and we’ll make any necessary revisions until you’re completely satisfied.
5. Signing Your Documents
When your documents are finalized, we’ll arrange a signing appointment. We’ll courier your documents to you, provide a witness to virtually attend the signing, and include a prepaid return envelope. Once your signed documents are received, we’ll prepare the affidavit of execution and send your completed package back to you for safekeeping.

Our Fees
We believe estate planning should be straightforward — including the fees. Our flat-rate packages make it easy to understand what’s included and what to expect. Each package includes consultation, legal advice, document drafting, revisions, and guidance right through to the signing appointment. You get comprehensive service and clear communication every step of the way.
Standard Packages
We offer the following flat fee for a will and powers of attorney for property and personal care:
Individual Plan: $800 + HST
Couple Plan: $1,250 + HST
Additional Planning Options
If your situation requires more advanced planning, additional fees may apply:
Appointing a trust company as estate trustee and/or attorney for property +$250 + HST
Creating a Henson trust, spousal trust, or real estate trust – +$250 + HST
Adding a secondary will for private company shares, certain real estate, or other specialized assets – +$500 + HST
Urgent drafting where documents are needed on short notice – +$200 + HST
You’ll pay 75% of your fee when draft documents are delivered, and the balance when everything is signed.
Updating your Plan
Life changes — and your estate plan should change with it. If we’ve prepared your Wills and Powers of Attorney in the past, we’re happy to assist when it’s time to make updates. Whether your family circumstances, assets, or wishes have changed, we’ll ensure your documents continue to reflect your current intentions.
Because the scope of changes can vary, fees for updates depend on the nature and extent of the revisions required. If you’re considering an update, please reach out for a free consultation to discuss what needs to be changed. After that call, we’ll provide a quote tailored to your situation. Once you decide to proceed, we’ll complete a full review of your personal and financial circumstances to ensure everything remains accurate and up to date.
